Comic shops that host 24 Hour Comics Day events tend to be dedicated, energetic places, really throwing themselves into it. Even so, however, the comics business is a volatile one, and with the large number of comic shops involved, every year we lose one or more of our past event hosts when they close down.
Sadly, Gemini Jetpack is closing.

Meanwhile, the day has been filled with hectic news surrounding the first day of the book’s release. Finding out that a bookstore distributor had placed an huge order that would have eaten up all of our extra copies, leaving no more for the comic shops… and then discovering that the order was a mistake. Finding out that one of the shops that has been most supportive of 24 Hour Comics Day opened their order to discover that instead of the Highlights book, they’d been shipped episode guides for the TV series 24. But hey, the book is getting a lot of media attention… in Portugal!
